Brisbane is just four miles north of San Francisco International Airport and U.S. 101 is the major highway transportation link connecting the City to San Francisco to the north and the airport and peninsula cities to the south.
The rail line into San Francisco runs through Brisbane providing passenger service by CalTrain and freight service by the Southern Pacific Railroad. The City and County of San Francisco is extending it's Municipal Railway line to Brisbane's northern border.The Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) provides additional passenger rail service from the adjacent city of Daly City and is linked to Brisbane by shuttle service. Daily bus service is provided by the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans). The nearest port facilities are in San Francisco and Oakland. The nearest small craft harbor is the City owned and operated Brisbane Marina.
