Chamber sponsored
students in business and government huge success
The Annual Students in Business and Government Luncheon is a unique partnership between businesses, local government, Brisbane Chamber of Commerce and Lipman Middle School. During the months of April and May, the eighth grade students from Lipman Middle School shadowed businesses and government in the community.
The goals of this student forum are two-fold. The first goal is to expose students to a variety of occupations and careers available in this area. The second goal is to foster a positive exchange between the students of Lipman Middle School and business and local government.
The luncheon held May 22 at Mission Blue Center was sponsored by Sunset Scavenger Company and Universal Paragon. Barbara Bernardini, South San Francisco Scavenger and Board of Directors officer, was the master of ceremonies. This is the culminating activity for the students. At the Chamber luncheon, students sat with company representatives, presented their findings to their peers and business leaders and enjoyed a scrumptious lunch catered by Julie’s Brisbane Liquor and Deli.
A special thank you to these wonderful community members for helping make the student forum a success – Arthur Court Designs; Dolby Laboratories, KTSF Channel 26; F. W. Spencer & Son; Purcell Murray Co., Inc; San Francisco Scavenger Company; Brisbane City Hall; Brisbane Fire Department; Brisbane Police Department; and, Brisbane Public Works. The Chamber and Lipman Middle School students appreciate the time and courtesy that these business and government agencies have extended to the students to make this opportunity available.
